Senator Fontana: $500,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) Funding

November 1, 2024

We’re excited to share that the North Charles Street Affordable Homeownership Project has been awarded $500,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) funding. This crucial support brings the Perry South neighborhood one step closer to the construction of six new energy-efficient, for-sale homes.

As part of a broader mixed-use development, these homes will be available to individuals and families earning between 50% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), providing affordable, sustainable housing options within our community. This project aligns with ongoing efforts to create inclusive, mixed-income housing, helping to build a vibrant, diverse neighborhood in Perry South.

This grant is part of nearly $38 million in RACP funds announced by Pennsylvania State Senator Wayne Fontana to support community projects throughout Allegheny County. For more information, read Senator Fontana’s full announcement here.

This funding marks a significant step toward making more affordable homeownership a reality for our community!
