NeighborWorks of Western Pennsylvania is kicking off this year's Dorothy Mae Richardson Legacy Cohort of the Homebuyer Education Program on April 11, 2024. During this free, virtual program, participants will meet every other Thursday for 12 sessions and get their Homebuyer Certification.

1:1 financial counseling will be available to help you figure out how to your lower debt and your increase credit score. The program will also connect you to organizations that offer down payment and closing costs assistance and other support for for 1st time homebuyers.

Space is limited! Apply online, then attend the program kickoff meeting at the Northside Pittsburgh Partnership on March 28, 2024 to join the cohort.

Honoring Dorothy Mae Richardson

Dorothy Mae Richardson was a community activist from the Charles Street Valley who worked with her neighbors to form Citizens Against Slum Housing and help low-income renters become homeowners. In 1968, their group raised $750,000 in grants, and founded Neighborhood Housing Services, which eventually became NeighborWorks of Western PA.
